tea reception..

ok.. so suddenly out of the blue NTU: school of humanities and social sciences (HSS) send me an email, a sms and a postal letter inviting me to a tea reception yesterday 20th may at swissotel the stamford.. ya for those pioneers u shud noe thats e place where PJC '06 prom nite was held.. so i know e place pretty well..

nevertheless i've nv been to any tea receptions b4 so i was quite unfamilar wif such events.. luckily ting was there to accompany me.. i reli gotta thank her here.. i think i wud have acted like a shua gu (frog in e well) if it wasnt for her.. thanks ya! basically it was pretty simple.. the head of the sch.. which was also the dean of the college talked to us.. and intro us a bit abt HSS.. den everything else was interaction wif ur respective courses' professors and students.. i must admit that i was impress wif e effort they put in.. i mean spending on a hotel for a tea reception.. good food and stuff (although it was not e main reason y i went.. i gotta admit they r quite delicious).. to my surprise there were lots of pple admitted into HSS this year.. i always tot it wasnt one of those hot courses but who knows? dragon year everything can happen rite? in fact i was standing at the back during the dean's intro speech because there wasnt enuf seats.. there're roughly about 100+ to 200 i think.. not a small number.. and i heard from stef that there was another HSS tea reception 2 weeks ago.. so if u count den HSS population is abt 300 to 400? cool rite?

to my second surprise i met quite a number of pioneers too! there was li xin and she came and left in a rush cause she got a flight to melbourne to catch at 6pm.. so basically she come, ask den disappear liao.. she's probably there now.. enjoy ur holiday! of cuz the most important part was finding out more abt chinese major.. which was wat they offered me.. well e modules r closely related to china (duh).. they seem pretty dry and theoritical.. but look on the bright side! that means lesser projects rite? as long as ur good at memorising i think u can do fairly well.. e pple there also tell me "no stress if u have no expectations".. they say u will do fairly well even if u dun work that hard.. and besides its direct honours meaning as long as u dun fail anything u will end up wif honours! juz that it will depend on 1st class or 3rd class etc.

there was this wrong perception that there will be a lot of PRC in chinese.. BUT it was wrong! all rumours! the pple tell me actually they r sorta banned from chinese cause it is unfair for local students if they were let in.. and plus.. y wud they come all e way to singapore to study chinese? kinda fei (no point) rite? haha.. so actually its ok la.. we chatted pretty well.. and i kinda like the pple there.. i wonder if i will be softened and juz click the "accept" button rite away.. but i still like econs.. haiz..

well.. i guess i shall not talk too much abt it.. haha.. i heard from hong they went fish and co yesterday.. hope it was fun! hehe.. for everyone of u out there.. be well.. and stay cheerful! and a very happy belated bday to jessica (20/5)! happy 19!

chinese..

o.. how forgetful i can become.. almost 1 mth never come and update.. actually juz nice 1 mth.. sorry sorry.. well.. eh how shud i put it?

well i finally got the uni letter i so much anticipated.. but den NTU offered me chinese.. in other words chinese studies whereby u read on poetry and chinese literature.. i nv say its a bad course la.. its got some prospects.. like chinese teacher? like journalism? or u can go mediacorp do some stuffs? i suppose in sg if u dun be too choosy there is always something for u to do ba? its a very personal thing.. some pple may like it and others may not.. of cuz needless to say u must have passion for chinese that is..

i like chinese but i prefer econs actually.. im sorry everyone am i rambling on and on abt my boring uni admission stuff? ok la i think better not continue.. i think im appealing and still waiting for more letters.. end of this matter for now..

but recently there isnt too many stuffs to talk abt.. driving.. o well.. had another lesson today.. its good! i learn parking and changing gear and the usual stuffs like parking on hill where ur wheel need to brake juz on top of the yellow line which they stipulate.. u can imagine that rite? its one of the test criteria.. well.. driving on real roads isnt easy..no wonder in the past u use to hear parents saying dun be too noisy when they r driving.. its distracting.. i feel that driving isnt hard la.. its juz not as easy as playing video games..

and speaking of driving a few pple r learning driving as well! jess is learning.. tgt wif dina and kim.. cool.. i din noe in sg u can choose auto and manual gear.. but here in malaysia u juz get manual.. but its better la can drive anything ma.. its better to xing ku a bit now and learn manual.. u nv know when u gotta need to drive manual rite? sometimes u juz cant be too sure..

driving n uni stuff.. ok wat else? o im looking forward to the class dinner that bing qin is planning.. i wonder how it has come along? we haven gather for quite a while and i reli am anxious to see how everyone has been doing.. i kinda miss them.. i kinda miss everything about the college.. its a nice place.. believe it or not (i noe those of u still studying wud be like: huh wat the.. college is worth missing? u sure?) its ok u will find out soon enuf..

o ya spiderman 3.. cool movie.. i catch it last week.. its totally awesome! haha.. well sharifah and baby din reli think it was THAT good.. but it was good rite? vion told me it was good.. come on its nice rite? juz that i agree partially wif andrew that maybe the pace was too fast.. developing 3 villians in 2hrs 20mins plus those romantic and mushy stuff and u get quite a fast paced movie.. unlike the previous 2 spiderman series that oni have 1 villian per movie.. o and dun 4get.. this sunday 7pm is spidey 2 on channel 5! haha i love spiderman..
